Process Description
The task presented to us was to develop/sketch a vehicle that also was relevant to our original business idea. We took a few minutes to sketch up their own original idea and from then, after every few minutes we would cycle their drawings around the table to allow other students to add their own ideas to each other’s sketches. The target audience for our designs are young adults.
Results
The design that will succeed the most is the T-Rex design and the bath tub design. The T-rex design is very complex. The T-rex itself is the transportation system. The seat is on the back of the T-rex and the seat is a massage chair. The T-rex also has a hose that squirts out icy-hot water when the person gets off, if they desire. The T-rex is also wearing roller blades.
The bath tub design is also complex. The entire tub can move, so that the vehicle can be brought to the customer. Curtains are provided for the privacy and comfort of the user. Large heaters are installed for the purpose of allowing the user to dry themselves off after each use. The tub comes equipped with a shower head so that the user can choose between taking a shower or a bath. It’s like a carwash for a person!
In a head-to-head matchup, the bathtub proved to be the more viable design, so that was the design that we ultimately went with.
