Muskingum County Board of Elections Youth at the Booth Opportunity

The Muskingum County Board of Elections is looking for teens to participate in their Youth at the Booth program.

Here are details on the program:

  1. Must be 17 years old by the date of the election to work. They also must be a resident of Muskingum County. The next election is a Primary and is scheduled for May 3rd.
  2. Provides an opportunity to be involved in a community service project and gives hands-on experience assisting citizens with the voting process.
  3. Students can document this experience to use on a college application, scholarship application, a resume, or a job application.
  4. Participants are required to attend an election worker training. They would receive $30 for attending a training and $125 for working on Election Day.
  5. Students would be responsible for getting permission to participate from their parents, teachers, coaches, and employers.
  6. Some school districts will be open on May 3rd, so students would need to work with their principal to get an excused absence.
  7. There would also be some paperwork that would need completed by the students and signed by their parents and one of their teachers.
