4-H Junior Camp Update

Earlier this week, OSU Extension and 4-H Camp Ohio approved holding overnight camps with restrictions in 2021. As a result, our counselors and staff are planning for a modified in-person overnight camp. Please be patient as we continue to work out details – guidelines and information continue to evolve.

We will operate under a revised schedule that we are still working on, but I can provide time frames for initial planning purposes:

  • Wednesday, June 9 – Counselors and Staff Only
  • Thursday, June 10 in the morning – Staggered camper drop-off at scheduled times selected during registration
  • Saturday, June 12 in the evening after dinner – Staggered camper pick-up at scheduled times selected during registration

Registration for campers is not yet available. Additional information will be released in a Family Update E-mail on April 30. Notes about the registration process:

  • I am still working on determining the cost based on our revised schedule and programming updates.
  • Camp scholarship applicants will be notified next week once fees are determined.
  • 2021 4-H Camp will be limited to 4-H members only.
  • Due to group size guidelines and required staff to camper ratios, registration will be more limited than previous years.
  • A first-come, first-serve pre-registration will take place May 3-7 online. Once spots are filled, a wait list will be implemented.
  • Pre-registered campers will receive full registration details the week of May 10, the deadline for registration/payment completion is May 20. If not received by May 20, we will move on to any wait listed campers.
