All first-time horse project participants are required to participate in the Horse Safety and Ethics Training Program with a parent/guardian before they are permitted to ride a horse at a 4-H activity or event. Both parent/guardian and youth must read 191R Horses, Safety and You prior to attending the program and bring the book with them to the program. Books are available for purchase by club volunteers at the Extension Office for $6. Youth must call the Extension Office to pre-register for a training from the opportunities listed below.
