New Fertilizer Applicator Certification Class on June 8 at 7:00 PM

OSU Extension Muskingum County will host a New Fertilizer Applicator Certification class on June 8 at 7:00 PM.  At the completion of this 3-hr session, applicants will be eligible to receive the Fertilizer Applicator Certification from the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

The cost for this course is free, but reservations are required due to limited space.  Masks and social distancing are required per state and local health orders.  Class location is at the Rural Services Building, 225 Underwood St, Zanesville, OH.

Please RSVP by calling 740-454-0144 or email martin.2422@osu.edu.

In June, 2014, Governor Kasich signed the Ohio agriculture nutrients law which will require farmers applying fertilizer to 50 acres or more to become certified. This certification is part of a broader initiative developed by a task force convened in 2012 with several Ohio agencies participating. The task force focused on developing recommendations for improving Ohio’s waterways while maintaining the integrity of the region’s agricultural industry.
