About Me

Hello!

My name is Erin Murray, and I am a freshman majoring in Zoology.

I was born in Connecticut, but moved to Dublin, Ohio in 2004. A majority of my life has been spent with animals. I have been riding horses since 2011, and been competitively showing them since 2015. THE Ohio State Equestrian team was actually one of the main reasons I chose to come here!

Along with horses, I also spent a large part of my life at THE Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (number 1 zoo in the country!). During my time at the zoo, I worked in Guest Relations, was an animal keeper at the Surfin’ Safari show, and attended the hybrid Zoo School program during my junior and senior years of high school

My passion for the environment has always been a part of me. From the Roots and Shoots club in 5th grade, to being an advocate for conservation programs, I have always loved being one with nature. Total tree hugger moment!

One of my goals during my time at OSU is to become vegetarian. I always entertained the idea, but never gave it much serious thought until now. So if anyone knows any awesome plant-based recipes, hit me up! Another one of my goals is to study abroad once Ms. Rona goes away (WEAR YOUR MASK). Professionally, I would love to be out in the field studying animal behavior, or working with zoos and their conservation projects.

That’s all for now. Remember to be respectful and kind first, and don’t forget your mask at home!
