G.O.A.L.S: Clinical Volunteering

One of my biggest goals for my first year is to get involved in some facet of clinical research at one of these three places:  the Wexner Medical center, the James Cancer Research center, or Nationwide Children’s Hospital.  Hand’s on volunteering is not only vital in giving a competitive edge when applying to Md school, but it would also help me determine in what way I want to be a part of medical care.

Fall Weekend Work Crew

What an amazing weekend I just had in Marengo Ohio!!  From Friday evening until sunday morning, I served as a volunteer for Younglife fall weekend, a fun outreach weekend to give kids in high school a space to be real, honest, and talk about the gospel.  It was such a blessing to be pumped every time kids came in for breakfast, or to clean and mop and eat hours after everyone else.  The sacrifices made through service made me realize what it means to pick up my cross and put others before me for the sake of christ!  I also got to make friends and develop fellowship with the other guys on work crew with me, and working alongside each other and digging into the gospel was a gift.

Hey what’s up.

Salutations!  My name is Andrew Muresan and I am a first year at THE Ohio State University.  I am currently a pre-med student pursuing a major in Ecology, Evolution and Organismal biology.  My hope is to one day pursue the study of pediatric medicine in the hopes of becoming a pediatrician either in a domestic setting or possibly in third world countries with inadequate medical resources.  My interests include film, board games, community service and on-campus ministry and outreach.  I am currently involved in the cross-walk initiative on campus, a service group dedicated to distributing meals to the homeless, as well as the youth group Younglife where I am training to become a high school volunteer leader;  I also currently am a part of an intramural Broomball team titled “Broom goes the Dynamite”.  I am currently hoping to become involved in volunteering and research in a clinical setting, hopefully at the James Cancer research center.
