About Me

My name is Anushka. I am a freshman at The Ohio State University, hailing from the Columbus Ohio area. Growing up in a city that prides itself with its support for the reigning Buckeyes, it’s no surprise that I chose scarlet and gray as my home at a very young age. This campus is rich with opportunities and possibilities, and as a Morrill Scholar as well as a Health Science Scholar, I have felt nothing but a warm welcome as my journey at this university begins. In high school, my AP Psychology teacher inspired my love for the brain, and ever since then I had decided that a major in neuroscience is meant for me. Having known many internal physicians and cardiologists through family connections over the years had always primed me to see surgery as a set career, however soon after cat dissections and surgical footage in anatomy class junior year, I learned very quickly that I was not meant to be the one holding the scalpel. From there my interests grew and expanded into psychology and the mind, and I began to delve into the various mental illnesses that plague many minds without a cure. Having known people that have suffered through dementia, Parkinson’s, and a variety of other mental illnesses, my career goal has become to work towards an eventual cure, or preventative measure for these debilitations. I’m excited to begin my journey at the Ohio State University, and I cannot wait to see where my future takes me. Go Bucks!
