Great depth in space. I attempted to mimic Henry Moore in the first sketch. In the second, I’m uploading my first sketch of the Planes in Space project.

Sketchbook 12 – Prompt 3
From the work of Louise Bourgeois, I drew a landscape using contour lines. In the first drawing, the mountains and hills feel two-dimensional and unconnected. I remedied that in the second drawing by drawing a smaller part of a landscape, only part of a mountain. This allowed for the ridges to be interconnected, and gave a sense of depth to the composition.
Sketchbook 11 – Prompt 19
From the artist Marisol Escobar, I drew with one color on top of another. I quickly drew the human figure, and after drawing it, I thought that it would work better with an animal silhouette. The cat also doesn’t have human hands on it, but has flora instead.

Prompt 9 asks for a doodles, so I filled a sketchbook page.
As the documentary we watched suggested, this doodle does reveal my unconscious mind. I tend to be pretty interested in things – planes, rockets, cars – but I also drew a few more natural forms as well. Also, I experimented a little with color
Sketchbook 8
Cathy Nan Quinlan sketched small, single plants. I mimicked this by drawing in Ohio State’s Chadwick Arboretum.
Quinlan’s sketches are almost academic, but seem to be done quite quickly, mainly capturing form with only the most important detail.

Here I followed Prompt 8, in which I quickly and lightly sketched my wallet and a mason jar, then went back over them with a darker pencil a la Leonardo da Vinci. The lines from the second time over are more decisive and detailed.

I drew six panels that captured a day in my life, as per prompt 28.
I wanted to make something similar to this short animation that shows the day cycle at one bench in Russia:
My panels start and end with me in bed. As the day progresses, the scene gets darker until I eventually use white to designate lines on a black background to represent night in a similar fashion to Luca Buvoli.
Sketchbook 4
For this sketch, I followed prompt 23, which asked for creation of an automatic drawing. The first drawing has a lot of flowing lines, and is almost screensaver-esque. My second sketch is a lot more geometric, but also features repeating shapes.
