Provide a brief definition of the following terms

  • Sound intensity
  • Sound pressure
  • dB SPL
  • Loudness
  • Loudness Weighting Curve
  • phons
  • Loudness Scale

Provide a brief summary of the following loudness models

  • Steady sounds
    • Zwicker (1991)
    • Moore (1997)
  • Time-varying sounds
    • Zwicker and Fastl (1999)
    • Glasberg and Moore (2002)

    • Boullet (2006)

Part 2
Due Wednesday March 2 at noon

Using the audio file ‘avm.wav’ and label file ‘avm-fixed.txt’, make the following plots using the values of the F0 (converted hertz)  and PWR (after taking square root) outputs from YIN and the InstantaneousLoudness estimates from the Zwicker and Moore time varying loudness functions (Loudness_TimeVaryingSound_Zwicker and Loudness_TimeVaryingSound_Moore, respectively). Make all plots in regards to time in seconds and set the x limit for the loudness plots to match the YIN plots. Also, set the y limit for the F0 plot (in Hertz) to 330 to 660, for the squared PWR plot to 0 to 0.25, and the Zwicker and Moore plots to 0 to 35.
