The Graduate Studies Committee and/or representatives of the College of Nursing will review all military education, training and service of applicants to the master’s program. Credit will be awarded to the applicant for any military education or skills training that is substantially similar to the curriculum.
Pre-licensure Nursing Transfer Credit
If a student wishes to request a waiver for any of the pre-licensure nursing courses, a petition must be submitted to the Nursing Graduate Studies Committee using the Beacon student portal. This request should be discussed with your advisor prior to submission. The petition should include a statement of the rationale for the waiver, a transcript from the institution where the course was completed and a syllabus or equivalent document so that the Nursing Graduate Studies Committee can certify that the required elements of the course are present. If a student wishes to request transfer credit, please refer to the transfer credit policy. Transfer of credit requires a second Graduate School approval and is usually not needed; please reach out to your Graduate Program Manager for more information.
