Reflection of the course

I’ve learned a lot from this course, also I’ve learned about resources and apps that can make my time as a student a whole lot easier. One of the things that I liked about this course the most was that I can apply them to other parts of my life and not just my academic life. The time management module for me was one of the most impactful and helpful parts of this course. As we all know most college students struggle with time management this course gives a lot of tips to help with that.  Such as finding a proper place to study and do work because most of the times we try to do work in places that we can get easily distracted. Lastly, I loved the Trello app that was introduced because it can help many people who struggle with managing their time.

Another major take away from this class how to set goals and being motivated while trying to achieve that goal. Personally, I’m the type of person who sets a major goal and only look at that goal. I wouldn’t look at the small goals that lead up to achieving that major goal and get discouraged slowly over time. However, After reading and learning the material that was in this course it brought to my attention that I was setting goals and trying to achieve them incorrectly. Since then I’ve been setting weekly goals to finish out the semester I’ve been way more motivated and have been getting better grades. My end Goal for the semester was to finish with 4 As and allow one B. It also helped me with my athletic life when I’m at practice.

My last major take away is the online note-taking. Some of the resources that my fellow classmates had given I feel can be a big help. Also, the tips to note-taking because most people just write down what they think is important and not try to understand what they’re writing. The strategies I feel are most helpful for people who don’t know how to take proper notes.

Personally, I feel that every freshman coming into college should take this course because it will make their college experince a whole lot easier.

how I’m going to use new learning strategies

Setting Long time goals and short term goals

In this class, I’ve learned that setting goals can be extremely helpful in helping you becoming who and what you want to be in life. My end time goal is to become a pilot and professional athletes.

However, you have to set short-term goals to achieve this major goal. It helps to keep you pushing if you want an  A in a class you have to set weekly goals to achieve and those small goals will add up and turn out becoming the major Goal you wanted.

However, the goals you set have to be realistic and can be attainable. Meaning doesn’t place a goal on yourself that you can’t attain it’ll discourage you in the end.

Staying motivated in an online course

In an online course, it is a little hard to keep yourself motivated. However, there is some things you can do to not only keep your self-motivated in the class but also keep yourself updated in the class. First, you can find out what you like the most about the course because that’ll help you keep going. You can also try to meet a friend in the class and yall can talk about the class and do some of the work together. It will not only keep you motivated but also help you get better grades. You can also look at the good grades you’ve been getting in the course to excite you into getting better grades later on in the course.
