About Me

Hello there! My name is Andrew Mordkoff and I am currently a first year student pursuing a finance major with hopes of also minoring in professional writing. Being a student in Fisher has allowed me to set high standards for myself and my future involvement in Ohio State. With this in mind, I plan to seek out the student organizations that will allow me to both build a network on campus and explore my strengths in a practical business setting. As part of the University Honors program I have made a commitment to challenge myself in a way that prepares me for the highly competitive world of business. Developing grit in the face of problem solving is a skill of equal importance to me as academic growth. I plan to continue this commitment through one of Fisher’s rigorous honors programs where my experience in finance can be expanded on an industry sized scale.

Outside of academics, I aim to search for and limit my extracurricular experiences to those that allow me to best learn the vital components of the business world. During my 2015-2016 senior year of high school I served as the President of my B’nai Brith Youth Organization chapter where I was able to learn first hand what it meant to be a leader. In this position I oversaw the operations of my chapter in areas of communication, community service, treasury, and recruitment. Through these chapter folds I found myself reaching out to high schoolers and parents across New Jersey, learning to advertise the organization in order to create growth. In the Spring of 2016 I ran a dance fundraiser that hosted teens from across the state and raised over 8,000 dollars for the American Cancer Foundation. Most importantly, I learned the significance of cooperating with others to solve problems and achieve the best results. These are the areas I plan to expand upon in my search for the most beneficial extracurricular experiences on campus.
