PAES 727: Transcultural Issues and Strategies in School Counseling
This course is designed to assist practicing school counselors in the Columbus Public School District with developing the necessary awareness, knowledge, skills, and relationships for effectively working with diverse students and their parents or guardians. Participants will develop a thorough understanding of the social and cultural factors that affect the academic, personal, and career development of urban students. More importantly, this course is aligned with the outreach efforts of the School of PAES, College of Education, and University at-large. This course represents outreach and engagement efforts to urban, school counselors to help them €œbuild Ohio’s future.” At the request of practicing school counselors in the Columbus Public School District, this course was designed.
