Brian Monsen is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. His primary research and teaching interests are related to accounting standard setting, financial reporting regulation, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation.

Monsen’s Ph.D. in Accounting is from The University of Texas at Austin. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting (Russian minor) and a Master of Accounting from Utah State University. Before receiving his Ph.D., Monsen worked as a Senior Associate at EY in its Financial Accounting Advisory Services group in New York City, and before that as a postgraduate technical assistant at the Financial Accounting Standards Board in Norwalk, Connecticut. He is a CPA in the state of New York (license No. 108121 – inactive).

In his spare time, Monsen enjoys spending time with his wife and children and running marathons.
