Greetings — this is the official website of the Workshop on the Emergence of Universals, to be held on February 18-19, 2018 on the campus of The Ohio State University. It is being organized by the Rebecca Morley, Peter Culicover, and Brian Joseph of the Department of Linguistics. A formal call for papers has been posted (see the relevant page on this site) and has been circulated through various mailing lists.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 11:59pm, October 31, 2017.
The Workshop will feature invited presentations by Juliette Blevins (CUNY Graduate Center), Morten Christiansen (Cornell University), Jeff Mielke (North Carolina State University), Elliott Moreton (University of North Carolina), Rebecca Morley (The Ohio State University).
This Workshop will serve as this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Linguistics Symposium, held annually in the Department of Linguistics since 2004.
