This is a photo with my group I worked with at the Columbus Growing Collective as part of the Honors Semester of Service, Food Security specialization. As part of the Semester of Service, I was part of a panel that held biweekly meetings discussing the problem of food inequality in society and the issues that come with food insecurity like disease, malnutrition, poverty, and policy. In addition, I volunteered with the CGC once a week, creating at-home farming workshops, elementary lesson plans, and working at the Italian Village Urban Farm, weeding, composting, and discussing future plans. It was a very eye-opening experience discussing food insecurity and I learned things about the world and my own society I would have never otherwise thought of. Actually seeing steps to battle food insecurity through the CGC was very rewarding and is something I am very proud I did my second semester at college.

This is a photo of the first tennis tournament I went on as part of the OSU Club Tennis Team. I played tennis in high school, but didn’t think I would be good enough to make the team here at OSU. I tried out anyway and ended up making a travel team, which I am not the fundraising chair of. The team has been a really big part of my college experience so far and I am so happy to have joined. I’ve made so many life-long friends through this club and can’t wait to keep enjoying the ride for the next three years.
