MBCT Week 2 Home Practice Resources

Hello group members! Below are the audio/visual materials for your homework this week. Feel free to download any of these files for your convenience. Also don’t hesitate to reach out to host26@osumc.edu with any questions!

  1. Do the Body Scan guided meditation six times and record your reactions on the Home Practice Log.
  2. Practice Awareness of Breath (lying and sitting) daily. Being with your breath in this way each day provides an opportunity to become aware of what it feels like to be connected and present in the moment without having to do anything.
  3. Complete the Pleasant Events Calendar (one entry per day) and bring the completed form to our next session. Use this as an opportunity to become really aware of the thoughts, emotions, and body sensations around one pleasant event each day. Notice and record, as soon as you can, in detail (e.g. use the actual words or images in which the thoughts came) the precise nature and location of bodily sensations.
  4. Choose a new daily routine activity to be especially mindful of (e.g. brushing your teeth, washing dishes, taking a shower, taking out garbage, reading to kids, shopping, eating).
