I am sure there is something to be said about why our minds gravitate the way that they do. I see Hydrangeas in the clouds. Some people might see methamphetamine. The purpose of art is to teach us about ourselves with the hope that it might teach an onlooker something about himself too.
Upon seeing the original photo, I recognized that I found it visually pleasing but lacking emotion. I removed the small lawn and incorporated a kind of oasis. The clouds became flowers. And I was content with how the picture had transformed. I then experimented with some alterations: each more thought-provoking than the last. (This is not to say that the original photo lacks significance! Different photos have different goals. A thought provoking photo does not belittle the photo that calms.)
