Here is a video I watched in my online course to help determine if sources are credible or not. It is very important to throughly investigate sources, especially online sources, for their credibility. It is becoming easier for anyone to post information to a website for anyone to see. Therefore, you cannot believe anything on the internet simply because it is there. Anyone who has access to the internet can post information and it is not checked for accuracy before being published. Hence, it become the reader’s job to make sure they are using information from a credible source when doing research and looking for information. This video explains the importance of checking the five W’s (who, what where, when, and why) for each website you use in your research.
