Welcome!

Hello!

My name is Jenna Miller and I am a Columbus native! For my first two years of college, I attended Capital University for political science. I wanted to attend law school for environmental law. During my sophomore year, I realized that Capital University wasn’t the place for me which lead me to transfer to OSU.

The reason why I decided to transfer to OSU was that I wanted to keep my college debt on the lower side and OSU is close to home. The reason why I decided to take the first class for the City and Regional Planning major/minor was because of my involvement with Buckeye Girls State. If you don’t know what Buckeye Girls State is, it is a program where 100 plus girls get together and create their own government. Each girl is placed into their own city and then each city is placed under the national government umbrella. My positions were city councilor and city planner. I had to plan and establish my city with my fellow planners. I realize that my position at Buckeye Girls State did not go into detail of what city planners have to do on a daily basis, but it did get me interested in city planning.

My favorite city is Toronto. I liked the architecture of the buildings, how each building looked different than the one before it. I liked how there were different art pieces on every other street. I also liked the layout of the city, I felt like every section of land in Toronto was used. I hope one day I can go back and visit again!

Thank you for coming to my first blog post!
