Hello world!

Hi there, I’m Michelle Stiver.

I am beginning the MLT program this fall, and I am excited to get started!

About Me

I grew up in the small town of Ashville, Ohio.  I still currently live there today. My family has a long history in the town. I even have an original ancestor that signed the town charter.  I am married to a wonderful, supportive husband and have two boys.  They keep me pretty busy.  Both of my boys are heavily involved in soccer, so we are consistently traveling Ohio (sometimes even across the state border). I also have two dogs.  A Pug and a Mastiff.  Side by side, they look a little like a replay of mini-me.

Where I Attended School

I graduated from Teays Valley High School in 1996.  Please do not do the math.  I then attended Capital University where I double majored in Political Science and Organizational Communication.  I graduated from Capital in 2002. While attending school full-time, I also worked full-time as a training coordinator.  It was a complete accident that I fell in the Training and Development world, but I haven’t looked back since. I am also a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance from ATD, which I obtained in 2015.

A Small Introduction To My Work History

I currently work full-time as an Instructional Designer for The Ohio University Wexner Medical Center.  I have been working in the Training and Development field for about 17 years.  The majority of my work experience has been healthcare, but I spent a few years working in the credit card industry. While I find Training and Development my calling, healthcare is my passion. I find it very rewarding to use training to improve healthcare staff performance in their everyday work.

As I stated earlier, I am very excited to begin the MLT program and learning from a great group of professionals-my fellow classmates included.  I think it will be a very exciting couple of years!
