MHI students that wish to make changes to their curriculum can do so by completing and submitting the appropriate form in Beacon. Any changes to a student’s curriculum plan and course schedule should first be discussed with their faculty advisor to determine if the change is appropriate for their degree progress and career goals. Depending on where a student is in their progress toward graduation, a curriculum change may significantly delay their timeline for degree completion, as many MHI courses are only offered during certain semesters and may require other courses as prerequisites. If, after discussing their options with their faculty advisor, a student wishes to request a change in their curriculum, they must submit the MHI Curriculum Change Request form in Beacon. Once this request is officially reviewed and approved by the student’s faculty advisor and graduate program manager, their curriculum plan will be changed in the College of Nursing system. The student should review their new curriculum plan in Beacon to confirm that the change has been made and aligns with their initial request. They should contact the MHI Graduate Program Manager if it does not.
Completing a request may require the submission of the student’s current curriculum plan, which can be accessed in Beacon, or their advising report, which can be accessed in BuckeyeLink under the Academics tab.
