Artifacts

My artifact to symbolize my freshman year would be a buckeye. I know this is probably very stereotypical of someone who attends The Ohio State University, but I still felt it was appropriate. The reason I feel this was suitable representation is because it represents how I have grown throughout my freshman year just as a buckeye grows into a buckeye tree over the course of time. Yeah sure any seed could symbolize this principle, but I figured that a student at The Ohio State University could not just choose any kind of seed since we are the home the buckeyes. Looking at the buckeye tree as a whole, the branches could represent how I went into different directions throughout my freshman year. Some were more successful then others, but I would not trade any of them for anything else. They have all shaped me into the person I will be as I enter my sophomore year. In a sense, the branches depict how I have gone outside of my comfort in many ways in my freshman year too. As I prepare for the real world, it is these kind of “uncomfortable” experiences that will stand out above the rest.  In a world that is always changing, especially in the age of technology, it is nice to be at a place that is preparing me for any environment. In my future years, however many that may be, I can only hope that I can find as many ways to “branch” off of from my comfort zone as I have during my freshman year.
