About Emily

Emily holds a dual appointment at The Ohio State University where she serves as a Program Manager of both Community Relations & Development and The Prairie Nature Center. Her strengths include strategic planning, project management and process development. Emily is an enthusiastic relationship builder who is able to balance independent work along with being a team player in order to successfully function in a large organization.  She is interested in engaging in communication planning, branding, and utilizing social media to share an organization’s message.

Emily grew up in Milford, Ohio, northeast of Cincinnati with her parents and older brother.  After high school, she attended Bowling Green State University where she completed with a B.S. in Environmental Science.  She became a part of the Ohio State family just a few months later.  As a Buckeye, Emily completed a Masters in Environmental Education and Communication.  Her thesis examined the psychographics of visitors at local free choice learning institutions in an effort to more effectively frame conservation messaging. For a more in depth view of Emily’s professional and educational background, continue to explore her u.osu.edu page including the link to her thesis.

A big sports fan, she looks forward to the annual start of the baseball season when she clings to the hope that the Cincinnati Reds might be the last team standing in October.  She also enjoys distance running (she completed her fifth marathon in 2013), spending time outdoors and baking. Emily lives in Grandview Ohio with her boyfriend Patrick and their dog Belle.
