About Me

My name is Glorivee Mendez Mendez. I am originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico and have been in Ohio since 2011. I am currently an Honors nursing student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at The Ohio State University. I am passionate about nursing and the role it plays in helping others reach their maximum health potential through patient-centered care.

I also work as a Student Nurse Associate (SNA) in the perioperative team at the James Cancer Hospital Solove and Research Institute. Taking care of oncology patients and their families has been an honor and privilege.

Additionally, I am currently creating a research project to examine the effects of environmental stress on gestational age and birth and weight among African American Women. Working with two nursing faculty members has shown me the importance of evidence-based practice in the delivery of care.

Furthermore, I am the social media manager and a youth group mentor within the international, student-led organization Christians on Campus (COC). COC has expanded me as a student and as a person.

When I’m not at the university, hospital or research clinic, I can be found traveling, enjoying bodies of water, biking or doing yoga!
