How to Draw a Glass of Water

For this project I had to draw a glass of water sitting on cloth.

This was my set up for my drawings, I tried my best to make there only be a single light source that was influencing the glass and cloth:

The first three drawings below are a practice run I did.  For my practice I used grey tonal paper, 6B, 4B, and B pencils.  For the final highlights I used a white pastel.  I am honestly a lot happier with my practice run that with my final drawing.  This is likely because I am a lot more comfortable drawing on smaller size paper (normally 9X12 versus 18×24).

I tried to follow the same steps that I had in my practice, and did my best to scale my drawing both to the size of the paper, while being proportional to the glass of water.  For this final drawing I used 4B, 6B and B pencils.  My biggest thought about my final versus my practice is that I feel like my practice is a lot more detailed than my final.
