In 1909 Swiss physician Theodor Kocher won the Nobel Prize for developing safer techniques for removing the thyroid, bringing down the thyroidectomy mortality rate to <1%. Now, thyroidectomies are primarily used to treat thyroid cancers. To discuss thyroid and parathyroid tumors and their workup and treatment, We have with us one of Ohio State University’s experts Dr Priya Dedhia. Dr Dedhia is an Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology and specializes in Endocrine Surgeries.
