What The Physician Needs To Know About Human Trafficking. Here in Ohio, over a thousand children are victims of human sex trafficking and as a state, Ohio ranks 4th in the number of people involved in human trafficking nationwide. Often, these victims show up in our emergency departments, our urgent care centers, our hospitals, and even in our outpatient offices. It is incumbent on all of us to be able to identify these people and get them the help that they need in order to break out of their subjugation. Joining our moderator on this CME webcast is Dr. Jamie Macklin, who is an assistant professor of both internal medicine and pediatrics at the Ohio State University and is the section chief for hospital medicine at Ohio State University Hospital East.
