Learn About Racism and Racial Bias in Medicine on CME Webcast. Most humans hold implicit biases. And that doesn’t necessarily mean that we are evil. But it does mean that as healthcare providers, awareness of our own implicit biases are a necessary first step in eliminating bias in order to ensure that we treat our patients equally and that we treat ourselves equally. Last year, at the American College of Chest Physicians annual meeting, the keynote speaker for the conference was an interventional cardiologist who gave a fantastic and very moving presentation on implicit bias and discrimination in health care. And so, we’ve asked him to speak with us today on MedNet. Let me welcome Professor of Internal Medicine and the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs at the Ohio State University, Dr. Quinn Capers.
