Webcast Teaches About Antimicrobial Resistance and Antibiotic Stewardship. Antibiotic overuse and misuse is fertilizer for antimicrobial resistance and there are specific steps that all of us can take to prescribe antibiotics more judiciously and to slow the emergence of drug-resistant pathogens. Here to tell us what we can do to better protect our patients from antimicrobial resistance are two experts on the subject from the Ohio State University. Erica Reed is a PharmD and the Lead Specialty Practice Pharmacist for Infectious Diseases. And Dr. Sydney Agnello is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Infectious Disease and is the lead for ambulatory antimicrobial stewardship at OSU.
