Learn About Cancer Genetics on Webcast

This webcast will discuss Cancer Genetics. This webcast will go over some of the most common genetic cancer associations including breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and colorectal cancer. The presenters will also review the indications for genetic testing, the different aspects of genetic counseling, and expectations with testing results. Viewers will also learn about several different hereditary cancer predisposition syndromes, as well as important considerations for clinical germline evaluation.

The landscape of cancer genetics has been changing rapidly so to discuss how to approach these issues and more, We’ve invited two Ohio State University’s Medical Genetics experts. Leigha Senter-Jamieson, MS, CGC and Julia Cooper, MS, LGC who are both licensed and certified genetic counselors. Leigha Senter-Jamieson is a Professor of medicine and the director of Human Genetics here at Ohio State. She has authored numerous journal articles and presented her research in familial communication around positive genetic test results across the US. Julia Cooper is an assistant professor of medicine and licensed genetic counselor who specializes on cancer risk assessment and counseling.
