OSU Wexner Medical Center logo

This webcast will discuss Physical Activity for Health. This program is meant to discuss the benefits of physical activity for patients. The program will begin with describing the recommended amount of physical activity and exercise. The presenters will also go through details of an exercise prescription. The bulk of the talk will focus on how physicians can approach the conversation of increasing physical activity during an appointment and use motivational interviewing techniques to engage patients in exercise.

On this webcast, we have three experts from Ohio State University. Dr. Jeanne Caligiuri is an Internal Medicine Primary Care physician and Assistant professor at Ohio State. In addition to winning multiple “Best Doctor” awards, she was also a competitive ballroom dancer and Zumba instructor. Next, we have John Paro who is the Associate Director of Ambulatory Community Wellness and Outreach here at Ohio State University. Last but not least Kelly Urse is the Wellness Program Manager at Ohio State who is American College of Sports Medicine credentialed in Exercise is Medicine.

As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to:

  • How the physician can approach the conversation of increasing physical activity during a medical appointment.
  • Define physical activity guidelines and how to motivate your patient to get started.

You’ll also learn about the following:

  • Exercise Physiology
  • Prescribing Exercise
