The World Health Organization estimates that 5.4 million people are bitten by snakes each year, half of them by poisonous snakes. Each year, about 100,000 people die of snake bite and 300,000 require an amputation. On this CME webcast, we’re going to tell you about the management of not just snake bites but bites by other animals and stings by insects. Joining our moderator in the studio is Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, Dr. David Hartnett.
