Problem Areas & User Needs– we must characterize the users’ needs in order to better understand how to address the problem
Problem Area 1: While completing laundry tasks, it was hard to push a button through the clothes to keep them on the hanger.
User Needs 1: User needs to be able to fasten clothes quickly with one hand (ex. buttoning buttons and fastening zippers).
Problem Area 2: The user needs help balancing their body while cleaning hard-to-reach places.
User Needs 2: User needs to be stabilized when bending or reaching in hard-to-reach places.
Problem Area 3: Cleaning is slow and tedious due to clearing surface area in preparation before completing a cleaning task.
User Needs 3: User needs to be able to relocate or hold multiple objects efficiently.
Problem Area 4: Moving large items with only one hand.
User Needs 4: User needs the ability to lift a large object with only one hand.
