In the final semester, students will take NURSING 7599- Culminating Project in Clinical Research. In this course, students apply the skills and competencies acquired in the MCR program to a problem or subject encountered in clinical research practice. There are four approaches to completing the Culminating Project that the student can select from:
Option 1: A systematic or integrated review of a research topic
Option 2: A research proposal or clinical trial protocol
Option 3: A manuscript for submission to a journal
Option 4: An individualized scholarly project of student’s choice
Mentored Experience*: Some students may do a mentored project that the student organizes
The culminating project offers students a concentrated experience that culminates the student’s acquired clinical research competencies. Together with the ePortfolio, students will demonstrate culminated knowledge acquired in the MCR program in MCR 7599 Culminating Project in Clinical Research.
For more information, see the MCR Culminating Project Guidelines here.
*The MCR program does not provide contract services to place students in practicums; however, if students have pre-arranged a mentored project or opportunities for local hands-on experiences, they can discuss and negotiate this with their course instructor. Restrictions may apply based on state that the student resides in.
