MCR ePortfolio, the Master’s Final Examination

As a final master’s activity, all students compile an ePortfolio of work showcasing their achievements in each of the eight Joint Task Force Clinical Trial Competency Domains. The ePortfolio serves at the final master’s degree examination. The MCR degree does not require a thesis or a comprehensive master’s exam. Details on the ePortfolio requirements can be found at this link.

Evaluation of the ePortfolio

The student’s culminating project instructor serves as a master’s final exam committee member and first evaluates the ePortfolio. A second committee member, recommended by the program director, also independently evaluates the ePortfolio.

If either committee member evaluates the ePortfolio as unsatisfactory, the student fails the master’s final exam and is required to revise the ePortfolio and to schedule a repeat evaluation. A second failure of the exam will result in dismissal from the MCR program. Additional information regarding Review and Appeals processes is located in the Graduate School Handbook.

The culminating project instructor informs the student and the MCR Graduate Studies Committee Chairperson of the decision of the master’s final examination committee decision. Each committee member submits a grade for the student’s examination via gradforms.osu.edu.
