Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more guidance on using your ePortfolio, including questions and prompts that will help you get started, please visit the Honors & Scholars ePortfolio course in Carmen. G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness: I plan to study abroad and hopefully do service work outside of this country. I would like to do service work in a medical setting, particularly through Doctors Without Borders.

Original Inquiry: I will become involved in research most likely during my sophomore year. I am interested in genetic disorders and more specifically, Tourette’s Syndrome, so I would like to join a research lab investigating those disorders.

Academic Enrichment: I chose neuroscience as my major because I am intrigued by the brain and its critical role in development. Even though some of the classes are challenging, I learn new information every day and I am never bored. I aspire to become a pediatric neurologist, and I believe these classes will aid me in achieving my goal.

Leadership Development: I am apart of the Taylor Tower Hall Council Executive Board and I hope to develop my leadership skills through this position. Improving residence life and managing a general body of floor representatives has enhanced my leadership skills in terms of communication and efficiency.

Service Engagement: I plan to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House during my sophomore year. I hope to provide help to families that have sick children in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
