The CCP is losing China’s people (1)

In this NYT opinion piece, Wu Qiang writes: “This is a more serious problem for the party than the 1989 movement, which was largely limited to college students in Beijing.”
No.  In 1989 there were protests in dozens of cities all across China, and protesters and supporters were by no means limited to college students.  It was a society-wide challenge, and the crackdown on it was also society-wide.
