G.O.A.L.S.

Now that I am about half way through my first semester of my second year at OSU, I have a few new goals for myself to complete by the end of this academic year. My first goal and probably my biggest goal is I want to work an internship abroad through the Fisher College of Business Global Opportunities Office. Currently, I hope to work in Sydney, Australia. This goal fits into the Global Awareness category of G.O.A.L.S. because it would allow me to develop a greater appreciation for diversity by living in another continent for a whole summer. I feel that this is a really good opportunity for me to get out of my comfort zone, meet new people, explore the world, and gain work experience all at the same time. Another one of my goals is to finish out the year with a GPA of at least 3.75. I feel that is a good goal for me because academics are very important to me, and I know that I need to push myself to be the best student that I can be. This goal falls under the Academic Enrichment category. I also hope to pick up a minor by the end of the year. My Service Engagement goal for the year is to gain 75 hours of service for the year. Starting this week, I will be volunteering at Northern Lights Library Homework Help Center for my year of service project for Mount Leadership Society Scholars. This will help me grow as a member of my community and present me with a new and diverse perspective of the Columbus community. I am very excited to get started at my service site this week. I hope to grow as a more outspoken leader throughout my second year of college. I feel that I will be able to accomplish this goal by working to accomplish my other goals and constantly pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I am excited for what the rest of this year holds for me as a Buckeye. Go Bucks!
