About Me

Hi, my name is Cortez McCluskey I am currently a sophomore pursuing a degree in architecture. I have more interests on the sustainable side of architecture, as well as residential projects. Also I am interested in landscaping, mostly in the interaction and intertwining of the natural and built environment (making the division more seamless).

When it comes to academics they are one of my top priorities. I am not so much prioritizing the grade, but more so the takeaway from courses; and as a great listener I tend to take away lots. Now don’t get me wrong those go hand in hand which as my transcript shows and professor would tell you. I’ve excelled in all courses that I’ve taken but don’t find that as satisfying as being able to apply what was learned in real instances.

So I do well in the classroom like many others, but also in the work force too. I have experience in many areas the big ones are banquet serving (wedding/party set-up, serving, photography), warehouse duties, laying carpet/flooring, and physical therapy assisting. Those are just a few, I personally enjoy task where I am able to see the start and end result and the impact it has which is why I believe pursuing a career in sustainable architecture would be a great fit.
