About Me

Hello! My name is Mary McAuliff, and I’m a freshman at the Ohio State University. I’m currently studying International Business and Marketing with a Spanish minor. I’m a member of the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association as well as the Ohio State University Sailing Club, and I hope to become even more involved on campus in the coming years. Some of my passions include art history, classical literature, and linguistics. This year my primary goals include cutting down on time wasted on social media and practicing mediation daily to reduce mental clutter.

Artifacts

A very memorable experience for me during first semester was being accepted into the Summer Global Internship Program in Madrid. I received my acceptance letter via email during my Art History 2002 class, and I was so excited that I could hardly sit still. After class I called my mom and spent hours on the phone talking and doing research about all of the exciting opportunities available in Madrid. I think that confetti is an artifact that accurately resents the emotional impact of this experience. I visualize confetti because when I opened the acceptance letter, confetti popped up all over the screen. This is an effect available in Microsoft Outlook for when the word “congratulations” is present in a message. I remember how the colorful confetti and the message that followed brightened up my day.
