About Me

My name is Ryan McAlhaney and I’m going into my first year at The Ohio State University. I am an Athletic Training major on the pre-physical therapy track.

Sports have always been an important thing in my life. Whether it be playing with friends or staying fit, I have always participated in athletic events. During high school, I played baseball and attended other events like football and basketball games. I hope to continue these things throughout my time at OSU. I joined DSWS because of my want to keep involved in athletics throughout college, and I heard many good things about the loving community that DSWS creates.

Besides sports, I enjoy watching movies and TV, volunteering, and traveling. I love traveling to warmer places like Florida, South Carolina, and Hawaii. Warmer states are a favorite of mine since I grew up around Chicago, Illinois, which can seem very cold to people who aren’t used to it. I love the cold weather and snow, but sometimes I need the change of pace that states with more normal weather patterns can provide. My family and I often like to travel to these places. My mother and father are both graduates of Ohio University, and my sister, Erin, is currently going to Ohio State and was a member of DSWS.

I’m excited for what awaits me in my future in DSWS and at Ohio State.
