• Global Awareness: Students cultivate and develop their appreciation for diversity and each individual’s unique differences. For example, consider course work, study abroad, involvement in cultural organizations or activities, etc.
• Original Inquiry: Honors & Scholars students understand the research process by engaging in experiences ranging from in-class scholarly endeavors to creative inquiry projects to independent experiences with top researchers across campus and in the global community. For example, consider research, creative productions or performances, advanced course work, etc.
• Academic Enrichment: Honors & Scholars students pursue academic excellence through rigorous curricular experiences beyond the university norm both in and out of the classroom.

G: I plan on studying abroad for some time while I’m here at Ohio State. In December, I’m headed to London with my London Honors class, and I’m excited to explore the new culture while I’m there. In the future, I’d like to study abroad in England for a longer period of time and study English at a British university. I would really enjoy learning more about English in a place that has contributed so much to the subject in its current state.

O: I have always had a passion for performance, so I would like to get involved with extracurricular performance groups on campus and maybe even the Theatre Department at Ohio State. Currently, I’m in an acapella vocal ensemble and I would like to devote more time to the performing arts.

A: I want to take advantage of the numerous resources provided by the libraries on campus. For example, I didn’t know until recently that students can take advantage of the library space by renting out a group study room. I think this would be a great place to better collaborate with my peers in my classes.

L: In the future, I’d like to be on the Executive Board of my acapella group, MeshugaNotes. Also, I want to work on participating in class more so I can get the most out of the experience and apply that knowledge to group settings.

S: I’d like to get involved with organizations such as BuckIServ and Buckeyethon in order to make the most of my time here at Ohio State and give back to the Columbus community. Additionally, I’d like to get involved with a community organization (perhaps through the Columbus Public Library) to read to children and/or tutor them for their Language Arts classes.
