Our final project for ICE class was to create a realistic business model canvas, which included thorough details and data collected from unbiased surveys. In this project, our idea was simple, a 3D Print store in a mall similar to that of Build-A-Bear’s business model. After creating an initial business model canvas with our basic idea put on paper, we had many things proved different because of our extensive customer validation surveys. These proved to us that users are less interested in going to our store because of the learning experience but rather to just make customizable products on our 3D printing machines. Our final BMC displays how we would make this store successfully come to market and hopefully make a steady revenue stream from store visitors. We think that the concept of a 3-D print store has a lot of potential, because 3-D printing is innovative and something that people are interested in, but do not know nearly all there is to know about it.

About Me

ICE-pic-1   My name is  Julia Mattis, and I am a first year Fine Arts major focusing in photography as well as an Innovation Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE)  Scholar at the Ohio State University.
I was drawn into photography by my curiosity, and as a result of a very influential high school teacher, the curiosity snowballed into interest. As I continued to view the world through a camera lens, the interest morphed into passion. The thing about photography that keeps me thrilled is the powerful ability of a photograph to transform moments of life into ideas, to express feelings and emotions for others to relate to, and the ability to inspire people to look at the world in a different light. While studying Art/Photography at the Ohio State University, I know that failure will be experienced numerous times, but I will learn from these experiences and I hope to take my work to a whole new level.
In addition, I plan on minoring in Spanish at OSU. I have complete six years of Spanish education courses prior to enrolling in college, and I have traveled to Spain. My Spain trip ignited another passion: the desire to travel and experience other cultures. Speaking to locals in Spanish was such a positive experience for me that I am inspired to study abroad in Spain for an extended period of time.
Another thing that is important to me is health and physical fitness. I make it a priority to work out every day. In my opinion, balance is one of the most important aspects to a healthy life. A healthy body positively corresponds with a healthy mind, thus I make all attempts to live a balanced lifestyle.
My favorite way to exercise is to run because I find it cathartic and fulfilling. Running on the cross country and track team throughout high school was a very positive experience for me, and has motivated me to continue running on my own and with the Ohio State running club.
In college I will work hard to experience success and make many memories. I am very excited about the future and what I will do with my time as a buckeye!
