This module helped me in numerous ways that will benefit me in future classes down the road. This module discussed a few different topics, but they all were extremely helpful in making me a more well-rounded student, and here is why:
1.) Taking notes as an active learner – This was helpful because I personally tend to take notes but be a passive learner, meaning I’m taking all the notes down, but not exactly retaining the information I’m taking down. The lesson listed various ways that can help a student in taking notes and retaining the information, such as outlines, concept maps, the Cornell method, or by hand. It also listed ways in which you can organize your electronic notes, through many different apps we can use. It also listed ways we can organize our paper notes as well.
2.) Seeking out online resources – This is helpful because many students don’t understand that a topic discussed in lecture can go much further beyond what was assigned in class. If you research a topic, you may find other resources that can shed new perspectives on a topic along with new insight and context. This would not only help a student better understand a topic, but also help a student be a better student overall.
