Art at home

I have been thinking of ways I can still be creative and use both my hands and the right side of my brain during quarantine. So far I have cooked, baked, played Minecraft, painted, acid washed, and spray painted with my little brother. Attached is a photo of the apple pie I made for Easter. I like baking things that aren’t super specific because I am really bad with precision. I enjoy making pie because while it does require a certain amount of ingredients, if you add a little more cinnamon or a little less lemon juice than the recipe says, it will still turn out just fine.

Sculpting (?) with paper

day one of sculpting with paper:

I find it really difficult to be as precise as necessary with my folds and my paper gets wrinkled easily. Next attempt, I’m going to use an old folder or a thicker piece of paper to avoid wrinkling. I have tried to think of ways I can make a 2D pattern into a 3D form with paper, but it’s really hard for me to imagine something like that without the flexibility of clay or another pliable material. I was thinking of possibly using something like paper mâché but I am not sure if that’s what Steve is looking for. Pictures will be posted later once I get this form under control
