The Writing Center recognizes writing as a foundational skill crucial for success in college, most career fields, and civic participation. Therefore, we support the development of writers by fostering:
- A culture of writing and inquiry for students at all levels (developmental through professional), across all media (print & digital), and across all disciplines;
- An intellectual pedagogical community, encouraging discussions of writing and the teaching of writing at both the classroom and curricular levels;
- A culture of pedagogical inquiry, advising and supporting faculty and student research projects focused on teaching and tutoring strategies.
