NEW! Federally-Funded Program to Benefit Local Manufacturers
The OSU South Centers MEP would like to introduce you to our newest program, Shale POWER. Shale POWER is an initiative that helps manufacturing companies to enter or expand into the natural gas energy supply chains.
The gas industry is thriving in our region with hundreds of billions of investment dollars to date and at least $17 billion committed annually. Opportunities for local manufacturers are numerous with potential customers in the upstream, midstream and downstream phases of the energy market. It can be difficult for a company to find the right approach to do business in this ever-evolving world. Shale POWER was created to offer support that meets your needs.
It starts with the new Shale POWER website: www.shalepower.org. I encourage you to visit it now and get connected so you are among the first to learn about events, news and resources. The website provides the latest information about the energy industry and how we can support manufacturing companies and testing laboratories. The Shale POWER initiative provides this support in the following categories:
Make connections to supply chain contacts and Shale POWER partners who can assist you. Shale POWER has industry engagement professionals with experience in the shale industry that are available to provide guidance. There are partner organizations located in your community who truly understand your needs and can assist you in this process.
Access a library of resources that detail the path to new energy opportunities. An industry assessment is available for companies to determine how they are positioned for opportunities.
Technical Assistance is available to help companies be more successful with the shale energy supply chain. Grant funding of up to $5,000 is available to eligible companies.
The latest news and events about the shale industry. There is a monthly Shale POWER Newsletter that you can read here or sign up to have it emailed to you directly.
Shale POWER is a game changer for manufacturers who are looking to enter or expand in the shale energy market. The initiative is managed by a group of organizations that work together as partners to support communities within the 35 counties of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia including: Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, Catalyst Connection, the West Virginia Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Ohio’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership organizations (Ohio State University and MAGNET), and the Johnstown Area Regional Industries (JARI). The Shale POWER Initiative was provided through a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC).
