About Me

Hi, my name is Libby Mannix, and I am a first year Data Analytics major at The Ohio State University. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio with two siblings and two awesome parents. As a kid, I always enjoyed cooking, running, playing games, and most of all solving puzzles. To this day, I still enjoy all of these activities because, through them, I am constantly learning and pushing myself to try new things.

When I was little my parents nicknamed me “stubborn” because of the way I never gave up on conquering a challenge, no matter how small. Whether it was fixing my own hair, or solving a Rubik’s cube, I wanted to figure out how to do it on my own.  My determination still carries with me in everything I do today. I was a cross country and long-distance track runner all four years in high school. My determination in the sport of running aided me in the completion of countless 5-k races and over 5 half-marathons. Running wasn’t easy, but with hard work and patience I was able to get to where I wanted. Similarly, this is why I love math, logic, and puzzles so much; there is always a way to get to the end goal, I just have to be motivated enough to figure out how to get there.

When thinking about a career to pursue, I knew I wanted to find something that would allow me to work with the logic behind the systems that run the world we live in. Ohio State’s Data Analytics major curriculum not only gives me the opportunity to learn how to code in over 12 programming languages, but it also teaches me numerous other skills to help businesses make smart decisions. I am looking forward to fining a job in data mining and analysis so I can put all of my skills together to solve whatever challenges are put in front of me.
